Avenues Music

We came together in a beautiful evening with our new songs and some classic covers.

It wasn’t just our new age, new wishes, new books and new vinyls were on the table. We also had the classic Kentucky bourbon, which was consumed smoothly, and a selection of cool beer set. Not to forget beautiful sunny fresh air and wonderful island view… It was time for the Zodiac Leo to roar… instead we meowed profusely.

The night started with Alice in Chains, The Louvin Brothers and Uncle Tupelo covers. In the first attempts, things were a bit messy. However it was soon settled well. Emir’s fingers began to hurt due to his usual laziness… You know what the ancients say; a rolling stone gathers no moss. As Emir drowns into flashback loops to figure it out how things actually are, Metin filled the little hall with the aesthetics of his “out-of-pocket” acoustic bass notes. For a more balanced sound, hard guitar pick was the right choice, indeed. Meanwhile, Alkan was obsessed with various emphases and expressions through the stories. Sometimes Emir’s melodic touches and sometimes Metin’s foresight comments helped his insolubility.

After the covers, it was time for our own compositions. Brand new tune “Wedding Cards” finally see the light of the day. Also short but strong “Last Quarter” and mellow – melancholic “Off The Lanterns” were discussed and interpreted with some brainstorming. Long balcony talks about the structural problems of society and decaying human relations inevitably prevented us from working on one of our brand new tune “The Man Who Made December”. It will come to the table next time.

While working on the tracks some interesting expressions and warnings like “avoid falling into the Pink Floydesque hole in the outro solo part!”, “actually we are also southern peasants” “do not miss the feeling of incompleteness”, “one measure missing & one measure more”, “beyond the space and time” “secret ghost notes” “MeatPuppetesque” “the ear is looking for it but can’t find it!” etc. were heard. We will hopefully share what does all that mean soon.

The night ended with export long time no see friend Captain Black’s sugary sweet scent and insufficiently nitrogenized Irish stout.

That’s all for now…

See you soon.
