Background & Story

“Another Time”, second piece of our demo album series has been released in digital format.

“Another Time” consists 4 songs written between 2017 and 2019. Recordings were completed in Dragos Music studio, Istanbul. Although there were minor shortcomings, we almost satisfied with the recordings. Songs such as “Pits and Barriers”, “Shadow Six Before” and “Torn Out Days”, which were on the agenda during the rehearsals, were not included in the album.

Compared to our first demo album, “Another Time” is a little more melodic and emotionally charged.

Opening track “Strange Kind One” is a relatively upbeat song, but it has also an inherent melancholy. It’s a folk song based on some personal expressions and acceptances. Second track “aXes” is the product of a deep questioning and retrospective projection process. It’s a down-tempo song. Repetitive insistent riffs and melodic arpeggios create a gloomy atmosphere. Tired journeys on cold winter days are in the background of this song. “aXes” was played with an electric guitars during the rehearsals. However, we included the acoustic version to the recording process. (Video segments of “aXes” is available on our YouTube channel)

The third track “Path” was written mainly during the “Forgotten Notebooks” era. Theme of this track is parallel to “Fragments of the Late Summer”. With its Springsteenesk dark and sad atmosphere and gloomy harmonica parts, “Path” is probably one of the most personal expressions of this album. The fade-out at the end of the song is the carrier of many complex emotions.

The fourth track “Lithuanian Girl” was written by Emir just after “Forgotten Notebooks” was released. Emir’s trip to northern countries at that time forms the background of this song. Alkan also took part in its arrangement. The ethnic motif in the entrance belongs to Joninių Sutartinė. Considering our previous catalog, “Lithuanian Girl” is a more up-tempo song. It’s sort of a salut to the 80’s honest folk/pop sound, especially with its melodic guitar outro.
