Emir Korkmaz / Vocals – Guitars

Emir KorkmazMusical InfoIn the end of the 90s I was into string instruments with Hokada classical guitar which my cousin gave me. Over the years I had some opportunity to play various stringed instruments like fiddle, bass guitar, nylon string fretless guitar, electric guitars and acoustic steel guitars. Nowadays acoustic guitar is my most favorite instrument to spend time. If I have to say something additional, well, beginning of the year 2000, I worked as a chorus singer in Kuşha Doğan Chorus, which is operating in Bağlarbaşı Caucasian Cultural Association. Frankly I am not an instrumentalist, a soloist or I don’t really consider myself as a great musician. I’m just a human being who is childishly happy to play with the instruments and enjoy listening to their sounds.

Alkan Arslan / Vocals – Guitars

AlkanMusical InfoExperience of piano courses which was started in 1991 and lack off due to the preparations for the exams, school chorus periods I have been forced to and accepted every time when i try to escape, various courses and some educations at Blue Note Music Center/İstanbul. Although she is not playing anymore and probably doesn’t know what i’m talking about, i can frankly say that my elder sister and her covers lead me to the strings. With a punk-rock background before, I’ve been deeply into folk/blues music approximately since 2005 era. I still buy albums & vinyls regularly and try to understand and support my favorite writers and musicians. We frequently try to share those valuable cultural stuff on our social channels.

My interests depends on the mobility of all kinds of things in the nature which are fed by contradictions. Those contradictions reveal endless questions about being and belonging. Mostly I create short stories and characters with the help of those questions. Dialectically, it can be seen as the melodic practice of thoughts and feelings. And the thoughts and feelings of melodic practice… In this context, I can define music as a strong expression way for the objective and subjective intensities with the help of notes, words and images indeed. I think Avenues project is important in general and it is meaningful to be involved in it. It means being consciously involved in a more factual plane of life, concerned with changing emotions, open-ended interpretations and influences. This also makes sense in transitivity with the more conceptual rational mental plane. I would like to talk a little about the concept of aesthetic form. The issue of beauty and aesthetic judgement is important. Beauty is the form of suitability of an object perceived without the idea of a purpose. In other words, what is at stake for me is fitness for purpose. I like the atmosphere created by the harmonious sounds in the melody of a country/folk song because they suit my understanding. It would be appropriate to state the following from a Kantian perspective. The form in something we find beautiful makes it suitable for our understanding. Anyway, we do not know what time will show, but we will continue to compose and produce our compositions in the best way possible. We will learn and think more and hopefully take aware steps. Even if no one listen or care, at least we will able to say that we did something makes us serene in this world by presenting a new product, contributing to the formation process of its existence…
